Question #3 -
In Confessions of a Shopaholic, Becky has a hard time determining her wants vs. her needs in terms of shopping. If and when she gets the ability to tell the difference, her addiction will be over and her debt will be reduced significantly.
Becky's Wants:
- handbags
- tons of shoes
- accesories
- fancy (expensive) dresses / clothes
Becky's Needs:
- work attire
- cheap clothes for other events
If Becky kept her list in check like this, then she would be way more financially stable.
Question #5 -
The movie ended in a typical fairy tale style ending, and I thought that it was not too far from being realistic. Becky had a lot of clothing and was a famous journalist who's style was somewhat iconic. It made sense that she made a lot of money when she sold her wardrobe to put herself out of debt. The only thing that was a little unrealistic for me was that she immediately recovered from being a shopping addict. If Becky truly did struggle with a shopping addiction then it would have most likely have been harder for her to recover and go back to normal spending.
