Confessions of a Shopaholic: Jocelyn Morales Martinez

Confessions of a Shopaholic

3. There is a huge difference from a want and a need. Wants are things you can live without and can manage to go through life without. A need is something that you depend on dearly, and without it you can’t complete your daily to do’s. For becky, whom is shopaholic, is a stressful thing for her to separate her wants and her needs. In the movie, the “wants” are clothes. shoes, scarfs, etc even though she already has an excess of it. Her “needs” based on the movie is paying her best friend the rents she owns. Because without paying rent there is no where for her to stay, which will end up homeless. All that being said food, water, and shelter are the most important NEEDS!

Wants
Needs
Shoes (preferably designer)
Water
$300 Handbags
Money for rent (Shelter)
$150 dollar scarf
Food
The $1500 dollar purple dress
Her best friends bridesmaid dress

5. With all the support of the shopaholic support group Becky gets to overcome her fear of the debt collectors. In order to face her debt collector she was able to hold her own sale that will successfully get her out of debt. With all the stuff she has bought over the years she got enough money to cover all of it, and she confidently went into her debt collectors and paid him all in pennies, which i thought it was a good comeback the way Debt collector humiliated her on live T.V. With all that being said, i totally agree the way the movie ended. With the fame she got from writing that article she had a great probability to get out of debt. So in that case it was realistic for her. MAybe if someone in real life did that, they wouldn't get that much customers in their sale since the vendor wouldn't be recognized. and the girl in the green scarf was hosting it.
